Christmas Family Reconnect

At Christmas time when our young adult children come home to WI, we take a mini trip in lieu of gift giving. This helps us catch up and unwind from the business of life and the season itself. My husband and I thought of Door County right away when looking for this year’s destination. It was close enough to home in case the weather was bad, and we had never been there in the winter. It was a daunting travel up because of the snowstorm that Sunday, but we took our time and had great car conversation. Door County had received it’s first real snow fall of the season and it was an amazing 12″ of fresh powder. It looked like a winter wonderland and the minute we pulled into the driveway, all tension disappeared. The grounds of the home to the interior was picture perfect and welcomed us in. We lit a fire once we settled in with the stack of wood that was provided. A few of bundled up and walked around the neighborhood. Your home fit the seven of us perfectly and provided games, video’s, and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking all our meals together. The list of local business and things to do came in handy, as we frequented the local grocery store often. We also ventured over Zettel’s to rent snowmobiles for the day. What a blast!!! Much laughter was had while playing games around the fire and lots of memory making to cherish. Our family is looking forward to our next trip to Trillium Gap for another adventure in the future, “I hear the beach is within walking distance.”
